In the latest example of a disturbing (and growing) trend of children attacking their parents, an 11-year-old Tewksbury girl was arrested after allegedly attacking her mother and cousin.

The suspect, whose name and address are not being published because she is a juvenile, is being charged with assault and battery.

The incident began Sunday, just after 10:30 p.m.when a woman called 911, reporting that her daughter had said she had been chatting online with another juvenile female who claimed to have been drinking all night.

An officer reported to the address of the second juvenile female and spoke to all of the individuals involved and determined that the second juvenile female had not, in fact, been drinking.

Less than two hours later, the mother of the second juvenile female called police to report that her daughter had just attacked her and her niece. Officers responded to the scene and placed the girl under arrest.

The arrest marked the fourth incident in recent months in which teens and pre-teens had been accused of attacking their mothers. See stories here and here.

Another daughter charged with assault

A female caller reported that she had been assaulted by her mother. However, when police responded to the residence on Ames Hill Drive, a brief investigation revealed a different set of facts. As a result, Shekina G. Bishop-Sullivan, 22, 1417 Ames Hill Dr., was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery.

Two arrested for assault and battery

On Tuesday, a male party walked into the police station at 5:42 p.m. to discuss an issue involving a child.

Sgt. Coviello spoke to the man and, as a result of a brief investigation, arrested two men on the spot.

Carl Mulvanity, 23, 321 Ames Hill Dr., was charged with assault and battery. William Mulvanity, 25, 205 Hill St. ext. was charged with assault and battery and disorderly conduct.

Disabled motor vehicle leads to arrest

Police responded to a disabled motor vehicle in the Wal-Mart parking lot, 333 Main St. After a license check, Patrick James Carroll, 27, 196 Salem St., Wilmington, was arrested as the result of an outstanding warrant.
