5 Things You Need To Know Today: Wednesday, Feb. 8
Bits of information to help you be the smartest person in line at the coffee shop.
Here are five pieces of information designed to start your Wednesday off on the right (or left, I suppose) foot and to help make you the smartest person at your breakfast table.
1. Today's Local Weather forecast: According to the NWS, today will be partly sunny, with a high near 35. Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph. Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22. West wind between 3 and 5 mph.
2. Reader Comment Of The Day: "They put up that poster to provoke a response. They got it.
They tore it down, so their objections would be heard. They got it.
(Its being heard by the AG and DA) Both parties should thank
everyone that ever protected this nation and the free speech
they are both using. Welcome to America. Like these events or not
its part of the freedoms of this great country. Imagine what would have happen to either party...in say Syria. I shake my head at both sides.....but will continue to protect your rights to do so." Reader Hunter, commenting on the story, "Sears: LaRouche's Derogatory Obama Sign 'Inappropriate,' 'Illegal' (POLL)"
3. By The Numbers: 32. That's the number of Tewksbury residents who turned out last night at Town Hall for the second of two public hearings on the recommended charter changes.
4. It's Happening Tonight: The School Committee will host a Tewksbury School Department Budget Hearing at the Wynn School at 7 p.m. This is a great opportunity to ask questions about the proposed FY13 School Budget and to let your opinions be heard.
5. It's Happening at Noon Today: If you have an interest in new businesses, job growth and economic development, log on to "Lunch With ... Selectman David Gay" at Noon on tewksbury.patch.com . Gay is also chairman of the Economic Development Commission. He is also a staunch supporter of keeping Open Town Meeting, so I'm sure that will be on the table as well. Ask questions, voice your opinion or just listen in.
And don't forget: Editor Bill Gilman will be making his weekly appearance on WCAP AM980 this morning at 8:20 a.m.
