"Whiz Kids" is a weekly column featuring individual kids, youth groups, teens, and even teams, who wow us with their accomplishments. This week, we feature Billy Abbott, for filling a role that needed to be filled with a local youth sports team.
Billy Abbott, 17
Junior at Shawsheen Tech
Accomplishment:
- Billy worked as an assistant coach for the Senior level Lakers of the Tewksbury Boys Basketball League this past year. When no parents were able to commit to helping the coach consistently, Billy stepped up.
Keys to Awesomeness: Billy showed the kind of leadership and assertiveness that will carry him a long way in life. He didn't sit back and wait for someone else to get the job done. He saw a need and he filled it.

Great job Billy! Those leadership qualities will really get you ahead in life. I'm sure you inspired many others to do the same, not to mention those you helped coach!
