ConCom to Hear Plan for High School
Light week for local meetings as summer draws to a close.
Combine the fifth week of the month and the final days of summer and traditionally you get a light week on the calendar of municipal government.
Such is the case this week in Tewksbury with just two meetings on the agenda.
Conservation Commission
Wednesday, Sept. 1, 7 p.m., Town Hall Auditorium
The ConCom meets with just two items on its agenda, but one is the biggest project Tewksbury has seen in years. There will be a public hearing on the Notice of Intent for construction of the town's new $82 million high school on Pleasant Street.
The new complex will be built right next door to the old high school. Ultimately, as part of the project, the old building will be razed and replaced with a parking lot.
The public hearing, which will include the chance for public comments and questions, is first on the agenda and should begin just after 7 p.m.
The ConCom will also hear a request for an Extension to the Order of Conditions for work being done at 1695 Shawsheen St.
Board of Health
Thursday, Sept. 2, 7 p.m., Town Hall Auditorium
The Board of Health has yet to announce its agenda for its Sept. 2 meeting.
This column will be updated as additional information is made public by the town.
