Couple Arrested For Selling Coke Outside Home Depot
Tewksbury Police Department ramps up efforts to combat drug trafficking.
The Tewksbury Police Department's efforts to stop drug trafficking in town took another step forward Monday night with the arrests of a man and woman selling drugs out of their car in the parking lot of Home Depot.
Peter E. Surette IV, 27, of 19 Hancock Circle, Methuen, was arrested and charged with Distribution of a Class B Substance (Cocaine), Possession of a Class B substance (Cocaine), Possession of a Class A Substance (Heroin) and Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substance Act. Jennifer E. LaFreniere, 23, of 183 State West Road, Westminster, was arrested and charged with Distribution of a Class B Substance (Cocaine) and Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substance Act.
According to Police Chief Timothy Sheehan, officers were conducting surveillance of the Home Depot parking lot when they saw a man and woman, later identified as Surette and LaFreniere, conducting a transaction with another individual. When officers stopped their vehicle, they learned that Surette and LaFreniere had sold cocaine from their motor vehicle.
Surette and LaFreniere were arrested. Additional cocaine and heroin were found on Surette after he was taken into custody. Both were scheduled to be arraigned at Lowell District Court on Dec. 4, 2012.
In recent months, surveillance operations targeting popular drug trafficking locations have lead to arrests in the Woburn Street area and in the Walmart parking lot.

Is this called highway drugs? It seems that all the things that happen in Tewksbury are on the border of a major highway. This makes for a quick sale, and a quick get a way.

Looks like the feds will be looking into taking the Home Depot property now. After all they are selling drugs on their property.

Why don't they just move the police station along or near 495 ? Seems that's where the crime hot spots manifest from . Everyday it seems in that area along 38 and 495 criminal activity takes place . Good job T.P.D !!!! I believe an even stronger police presence should be in that area .

Thank you to the Tewksbury Police Department for being so deligent against drugs. However a lot of drug purchases are being conducted in the visitors parking lots of Apache Way? I have witnessed it a couple of times, when I was out walking, and have called it in, however by the time police get there they are gone. My neighbors who face the parkinng lot see it more often. It has been brought up to the board before and they posted signs which are definately ignored. If it is going on here, I am sure it is going on in other condo complexes throughout the town.
