Dodgers Knock Off Braves, D'Backs Get the Best of Rays
Nationals score victory over the Mets.

JR. U10 League
Wicked Cheesy Dodgers 12 – McKensson Corp. Braves 8
The Wicked Cheesy Dodgers were able to get a win, beating a very tough Braves team. Leading off the first inning, the Wicked Cheesy Dodgers were able to score 4 runs, with patient and timely hitting. Leading the charge were hits by Julia Giaimo and Amber Kelly. Helen Johnson pitched well over the first 2 innings, yet the Braves would not go down quietly keeping the score very close. The Dodgers were able to get some runs in the last inning, and were able to hold the Braves from catching up, with Gianna Ragucci pitching the last 2 innings and playing great defense to secure the win. Other outstanding standouts from the game defensively was the stellar play of Brigh Cote at first base.
Elia’s Country Store Diamondbacks 15 – Byette Insurance Devil Rays 6
The Elia’s Country Store Diamondbacks got their gloves dirty, making stellar plays in the field in their 15-6 victory over the tough Devil Rays on June 2nd. Diamondback catcher Sarah Murray gunned down two would be base stealers at third on back to back plays during a 2nd inning Devil Rays rally. Another crowd pleasing play came from Diamondback second baseman Briana Haley on a nifty catch on a pop up to finish off the same inning. She was mobbed by her teammates on the field after the play for good measure. Brooke Lamothe led the Diamondback attack, scoring 3 runs on 4 hits. Other run scoring hits for the Diamondbacks came off the bats of Lauren Crupi, Irene Houde (2 hits) and Sydney Quinn (3 RBIs). A total Diamondback team effort, additional contributors were Shannon Vasas (2 runs) and Julia Hartnett (2 RBIs) on offense and second baseman Tayla Spezzano (ground out) and shortstop Sarah Benson (pop up) on defense. And on the mound pitching a gem for the Diamondbacks was Dayna Salibe, limiting the Rays to 1 run through 4 innings.
Atamia VW Honda Nationals 11 - Custom Iron Craft Mets 8
The Mets fell to the Nationals 11-8 in five innings of play, following a fourth inning tie score. Key defensive players for the Mets: Jamie Hajjar, Sydney Papandrea and Lauren Whelton with put outs at first base, second base and home plate, respectively. Offensively, Emily Burns, Michelle Maciel and Ashley Danielson each contributed a base hit and Lauren Whelton had two base hits. Kelsey Kelley pitched four innings, striking out five batters.
Aubuchon Hardware Royals 15 – Crystals Convenience Marlins 15
It was a back and forth game against the Marlins and the Royals pitcher Catherine Butler stayed strong. The Royals bats were hot once again; Teagan Trant had a double, single and 3 RBIs, Amanda Ford had two strong singles and Sarah Bishop had 2 strong hits and an RBI. Defensively Niamh Cote did a great job behind the plate and Riley Cote was a strong force in the infield.
Aubuchon Royals 10 – Fantastic Sams Rockies 5
The Royals won against a strong Rockies team. Teagan Trant's was strong on the mound with 11 strike outs. Marissa Doherty once again showed her smart defensive skills making many outs at first base. Molly Hodgson stopped a well hit ball in left field and held a Rockie hitter to only a single. The Royals bats made the difference and Riley Cote had a hit and 2 RBIs. Paige McGaffigan also had a hit, advanced runners and did some smart base running.
