Domestic Dispute Leads To Assault Arrest

Wilmington man charged with OUI after Main Street accident.

 

Tewksbury Police received a 911 call Monday afternoon, reporting a domestic disturbance.

During the call, a female party told officers that a son had struck his father. Officers responded to the residence in question and spoke to the parties involved. According to the police report, the son stated that no one had hit anyone.

However, after an investigation, officers arrested Michael L. Macchi, 38, of 29 Pinewold Ave. Macchi was charged with assault and battery.

Accident leads to drunken driving arrest

An accident in front of Sal's Just Pizza, 2500 Main St., over the weekend led to the arrest of a Wilmington man.

The two-vehicle accident, which took place around 8:45 p.m., did not result in any injuries. However, Gregg F. Norton, 47, of 3 Boutwell St., Wilmington, was charged with OUI-liquor (second offense), failure to give right of way and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

Another mailbox stolen

On Monday, at around 1:40 p.m., a woman came into the Police Station to report that her mailbox at 46 Grasshopper Lane had been stolen and that mail was strewn all over the street. It was the second such theft of a mailbox in as many weeks.

Motor vehicle stop leads to drug bust

Tuesday, just after 2 a.m., an officer stopped a vehicle near the St. William School building. After a brief investigation, the driver was taken into custody. Julio Thomas Rodriguez, 28, 124 Swanton St., Apt. 124, Winchester, was charged with possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute.
