Firefighters Battle Two-Alarm Blaze on Foster Road

Nobody was hurt in the fire.

Firefighters battled a smoky two-alarm fire for about an hour this morning on Foster Road. Nobody was hurt, though two teens were home at the time of the fire.

One of the teens said he noticed smoke coming from an upstairs room, and he and his brother got out of the house and called 9-1-1. The boys took the family dog with them.

Officials said the cause of the fire is still under investigation. In addition to Tewksbury, Billerica fire officials also responded.

A portion of the road off Chandler Street was also closed while officials knocked down the fire. It was reopened around 11 a.m.
