Tewksbury commemorates the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001.
Sunday at the Tewksbury 9-11 Memorial next to the library, Tewksbury residents turned out to remember those we lost ten years ago.
Those in attendance heard a touching speech by annual speaker Larissa Gay whose father Peter Gay was one of the Tewksbury resident who was killed in the events of 9/11. The fire and police departments commemorated the 10 year anniversary with a reading of the names of the 93 Massachusetts residents who were lost.
Also present at the ceremony was a recent addition to the memorial, a four foot floor joist from the World Trade towers suspended from the ceiling of the memorial.
