A blood drive organized by Mark Cashell was held Thursday at the Tewksbury Country Club for the Jimmy Fund Clinic and Children's Hospital. The drive was a huge success, with seventy-eight people participating in the drive and fifty seven pints of blood collected.

The drive was held in honor of Lyndsey Pettengill and Cashell's daughter Ashley Cashell, both students at the Heath Brook Elementary School. The blood will help children like Ashley and Lyndsey who benefit from blood tranfusions at the Jimmy Fund Clinic and Children's Hospital. The amount of blood collected at the drive should be enough to help 228 children.

The families and young patients are grateful for the large turnout and everyone who donated.

The drive was also held in honor of other cancer patients Scott Einarson of Billerica, Jessica Downing of Wakefield, and Nicholas Barbaro of Windham, NH.
