Lally a Finalist For Two Superintendent Vacancies
Former Tewksbury High principal named assistant superintendent in Tewksbury just last year.
Dr. Patricia Lally's first year on the job as assistant superintendent of schools in Tewksbury could prove to be her last as well.
Lally has been sending out her resume and has been named a finalist for the superintendent of schools positions in Norton and the Southern Berkshire Regional School District.
Last week, the Norton job was given to another one of the candidates. However, Lally remains in the running for the Southern Berkshire Regional job.
Lally's career as an administrator in Tewksbury began in 2003 when she was named assistant principal at Tewksbury High. In 2007, she was promoted to principal and she played a pivotal role on the committee that oversaw the construction of the new Tewksbury High School.
Last year, she opted to step down as principal and succeeded Loreen Bradley as assistant superintendent.
According to an article published by the Berkshire Beacon, Lally and three other finalists were named at a SBRSD School Committee meeting on Jan. 22. The committee will visit the home districts of the finalists this week and will interview the four candidates Feb. 11-14. The committee will meet again on Feb. 14 to discuss the finalists' interviews and possibly vote for their choice to succeed the current superintendent, who is retiring.
Lally did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
