LETTER: Wilson Is Her Choice For Selectman
Reader says Wilson, "believes in community and working together for a good cause."
To The Editor:
It is with great pleasure that I endorse Scott Wilson for re-election to the Board of Selectmen. Scott has been a positive presence in the Tewksbury community for as long as I have known him. I first met Scott while teaching at the Trahan Elementary School a few years back.
Although I did not have the pleasure of teaching Scott’s sons Tyler and Colby, I did get to know Scott as a parent and a friend to the Tewksbury Public Schools. Scott’s sons are a tribute to the type of parent and leader he is as they are honor students, athletic and most of all good boys and role models to their peers. I got to see Scott transition from a concerned parent and interested community member to a community leader when he was first elected to the Board of Selectmen. Scott shared with me a vision that he has for Tewksbury. Scott and I share a similar vision for Tewksbury and we both love this town and want it to continue to be a wonderful place to raise a family.
Scott has made it his mission to work with both seasoned and new leaders in our community to keep Tewksbury moving in the right direction. It takes a strong leader to be able to state what is right and fair for the majority of residents and stand by decisions that are not always favored by some.
In addition, Scott Wilson has been the head coach for my son’s travel basketball team for the past two years. My family and I have been so impressed at how he took a young boy who is shy and laid back to a young man who has learned the value of teamwork. Scott’s dedication to the team and his support of the players has given me a new appreciation for his leadership skills. My son has learned a great deal in the positive environment that Scott has created for his team.
Scott believes in community and working together for a good cause whether is it for the betterment of the town, schools, or sports.
Respectfully,
Kathy Carleton
