Man Struck and Killed By MBTA Commuter Train
Incident took place on tracks just off Woburn Street.
Tewksbury Police, along with MBTA officials, are investigating the death of man struck and killed by a commuter train Tuesday night.
The incident took place just after 9 p.m. on the tracks just off 500 Woburn St. and temporarily shut down service on the MBTA's Lowell line. The MBTA sent a bus to transport passengers from train 341.
MBTA Shuttle service transported passengers from Lowell to North Billerica while the tracks were shut down.
The identity of the victim has not yet been determined and Tewksbury Police Chief Timothy Sheehan would not release details of the accident, except to say it was under investigation.
