Three years after her tragic death, the family and friends of Meghan McCarthy continue their efforts to make her name synonymous with the battle waged by cancer patients and the ongoing fight for a cure.
The Annual Meghan McCarthy 5K Road Race is scheduled for Sunday, March 24. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Flying Henrys of the Pan Mass Challenge and the Meghan McCarthy Brain Tumor Fund.
The race begins at Tewksbury Memorial High School, 320 Pleasant St. Registration is $15 pre-race and $20 on race day. Check-in is from 8:15 to 9:45 a.m. and the race starts at 10 a.m.
The event is open to walkers and runners of all ages and there are prizes in each age/gender group. Post-race refreshments are provided.
There will be raffle tables and t-shirts will be available for sale at the event.
