Menard Officially On Ballot, French Changes His Mind
Candidates have a little over two weeks left to return nomination papers.
It's always the prerogative of a politician to change his mind ... even when it comes down to running for office.
After telling friends for months that he absolutely was "done" as a member of the Board of Health, Chairman Phil French has taking out nomination papers seeking re-election to another three-year term.
He joins fellow incumbent Christine Kinnon and challenger James M. Killion in the race for two 3-year slots on the board. Kinnon has already returned her nomination papers and is on the ballot.
In the meantime, the Board of Health will have at least one new member, after Ed Sheehan announced his resignation last week. Now, a special two-year slot will be added to the ballot to fill the remaining years on Sheehan's term.
No one has yet taken out papers for the two-year term, according to information provided by Town Clerk Denise Graffeo,
The race for Board of Selectmen now has two official candidates. Richard Menard returned his nomination sheets and had the signatures certified. He joins Jim Wentworth on the ballot. There are five more potential candidates for Board of Selectmen. Incumbent Todd Johnson has returned his papers but they have not yet been certified.
Candidates have until Feb. 19 to return nomination papers with at least 50 valid signatures of registered Tewskbury voters to secure a spot on the April 6 ballot.

I am very happy that Phil French has taken out his papers. He is a valuable member of the BOH and it would have been a shame if he didn' t go for it!

This is easy, my two votes are going to be cast for Johnson & MENARD! Mr Menard, an independent thinker, beholden to no one, from the NEWschoolboy network!!

Mr. Miano did a good job at the debate last year and a strong showing at the ballot.
