Michael T. D. Callahan, 67

Retiree from IBEW Local 103, Boston; longtime volunteer for the Tewksbury Community Food Pantry.

TEWKSBURY - Michael Timothy Donahue Callahan, age 67, passed peacefully in his home Wednesday, January 18, three days after sharing his 46th Wedding Anniversary with his beloved wife, Angela T. (Walsh) Callahan. He was born in Boston, a son of the late, Timothy and Kathryn (Donahue) Callahan. He was raised in Charlestown and graduated from Charlestown High School class of 62. After graduation, he became an electrician with IBEW Local 103, Boston.

 He moved to Tewksbury in 1972 to raise his family. In his earlier years, he coached Little League and boys softball teams in Tewksbury. He was known for his generosity and devotion to his family and the community. He was a board member of The Tewksbury Food Pantry, appreciated and honored with the new wing named after him. He was a member of the Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks Lodge #2070, a retired member of IBEW Local 103, Boston and Billerica Country Club. He was on the Tewksbury Senior and St. William Golf Leagues. He loved to cruise and take trips to Ireland with the Walsh Family.

Besides his wife, Angela, he is survived by his three sons; Michael Callahan and his partner Patricia Lamirande of Lowell, Timothy Callahan and his wife Dawn (Tumenas) of Chelmsford, Daniel Callahan of Chelmsford, a grandson; Ryan Callahan of Chelmsford, two brothers; Timothy Callahan of Braintree, Daniel Callahan and his wife Patricia of Seldon, NY, four sisters; Jean Walsh and her husband Eugene of Tewksbury, Marie Alves and her husband John of Beverly, Kathleen Callahan of Charlestown, Debby Forrest and her husband Gerard of Whitman, many nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.

 Visiting hours are Sunday, January 22, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. resuming from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. His Funeral will begin Monday, January 23, at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. William Church, 1351 Main St., Tewksbury. Burial will follow at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to The Tewksbury Food Pantry, 999 Whipple Road, Tewksbury, MA 01876, will be appreciated.

Mike Callahan, we will miss you so very much. We have such fond memories of our visits to you and your wonderful family and of your trips to us here in the UK.
Your generosity and kindness knew no bounds and you were one funny guy!
We are stunned by your such sad departure. We will always love you.
