Municipal Ballot Set: Robinson Out, Sullivan In
Four contested races on the April 14 ballot.
Assuming nomination signatures are verified, the ballot is set for the 2012 Tewksbury Municipal Election on April 14.
Ed Sullivan made it official at around 4 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 27 -- he will be challenging Chairwoman Nancy Reed for a seat on the Planning Board. Sullivan turned his nomination papers i about an hour before the 5 p.m. deadline. Sullivan's father was a former Planning Board chairman.
Sullivan had originally taken out nomination papers to make a second run at a seat on the Board of Selectmen. However, head said later, he had made a promise to his friend Ken Miano, that if Miano ran for selectman, Sullivan would step aside.

Miano and Robert Marcin are challenging incumbent selectmen David Gay and Scott Wilson.
A second piece of drama was settled earlier in the day when Lyndsey Robinson, a student at St. Anselm and the 2010 Valedictorian at Shawsheen Tech, announced she would not be seeking a seat on the Tewksbury School Committee. Robinson said she had recently been elected Student Government Association president at St. A's and will be in Washington at a White House reception on Election Day, April 14.

Robinson did, however, say she was keeping open the option of running for municipal office in the future.
Robinson's decision leaves the School Committee race uncontested, as incumbent Dennis Francis and challenger Jamey Cutelis will get a free pass for three-year terms. Incumbent Jayne Miller previously announced she will not be seeking re-election.
Also uncontested will be the race for the Library Board of Trustees, as incumbent Patricia Pino and challenger Paige Impink were the only candidates to return nomination papers for the two available seats. Incumbent Paul Fortunato opted not to seek reelection and potential challenger Chris Castiglione did not return his nomination papers.
