VIDEO: New Tewksbury High Fills Students With Pride, Excitement
Students anxious to explore every inch of their new school.
History will record that after several years after the first planning meetings and nearly two years after ground was broken, the new, $68 million Tewksbury Memorial High School opened its doors to students on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012.
Far more than just a school building, the new facility promises to be a show piece and a source of pride for the community.
In the days leading up to the opening, students who had the opportunity to get a sneak peak at the new school gushed about its space, the state-of-the-art equipment and features such as a TV studio, dance studio, a spectacular gymnasium and spacious auditorium.
But mostly, the students said that the new school makes it easier to proudly tell people that they attend Tewksbury High.

Bill,
There is a typo in the title of the article. It would be great if you could correct that.
Thanks!

Mr Gilman do you know (or find out for us) when can residents of Tewksbury visit the new high school and get a tour? I'm interested to visit and see the building.

Looking back to what TMHS used to be like, with its dark, dingy E-Hall corridor, the suspicious brown drippings from the pipes in the ceiling in the cafeteria (sometimes on your food!), dark and mildew-scented computer labs running machines 5+ years outdated, unwelcoming and downright creepy locker rooms... I am really excited for the new incoming students to experience such a lovely new building!

Giota - the public open house is on September 8th - I believe from 9-1. Go to the school's website and it's listed on the calendar. It's been publicized on this site as well.

Comment is right. 9-1 on Sept. 8. I'm expecting a HUGE public turnout. Folks want to see their tax dollars at work. Tours will be led by students. Should be a fabulous day for the community.

Any chance of a 2nd date? I can't make it on the 8th but really want to see what my family and I stumped so much to get built!

There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony later in the month. I think on the 27th. That may be another chance to get a tour.
