Reading Victim in Child Sex Crime Linked To Wakefield Day Care Business. A Wakefield husband and wife are facing numerous charges in connection with an illegal day care service that subjected at least 13 children - one of them just days old - to horrific sexual abuse that was recorded on video.
A Thursday afternoon fire that took several hours for firefighters to control destroyed a North Street home. Though there was heavy damage to the property, no one was home when the flames began and the family’s two cats escaped harm.
Deputy Chief Rick McClellan said it is unclear at this time what caused the fire, which started just after 11 a.m. One firefighter was transported from the scene early on, but Fire Chief Ed Bradbury received confirmation about one hour later that he suffered only an ankle sprain.
A Bentley University student from Chelmsford was arrested recently after he allegedly assaulted campus security officers, according to a university spokesman and Waltham Police.
David Ingalls, 21, was arrested on Dec. 2 at 4:42 a.m. after an altercation with campus officers, according to Waltham Police Sgt. Joseph Guigno. Guigno said Bentley officers arrested Ingalls and booked him at the Waltham Police station where he was held.
