The Tewksbury Republican Town Committee last week to elect new officers for 2013.
With Don Ordway announcing he would not be seeking re-election, the committee found itself choosing a new chairman for the first time in more than two decades.
Robert L. Homeyer, who had previously served as vice chairman, was elected as the new chairman.
Ordway was elected vice chairman, Carolyn J. Donovan was re-elected treasurer and Doug Sears was elected secretary.
Homeyer is president of Homeyer Consulting Services, a water consulting firm he founded in 1992. Prior to that he had founded Aqua-Tek in 1982.
Homeyer is married with two children and also serves as a member of the Library Board of Trustees.

While it was very difficult for us to see Don Ordway voluntarily step aside from his long-time service as Chairman of the TRTC, I'm proud that we chose Bob Homeyer as our new Chairman and retained Don as Vice Chairman. Bob is a successful businessman in Tewksbury who believes in a responsible, limited government. We very much look forward to his new leadership and welcome everyone in Tewksbury regardless of their defined party affiliation. In the end, it's not about labels, it's about what you believe in.

Thanks Rusty your sage comments are most appreciated. We work hard to support what we believe in. What have you done? To support the town or country? Tell us please.
