Opening Day For Football, Free Movies And 9/11 Memorials

Fall is here and local activities have picked up considerably.

 

High School Football: Tewksbury High vs. Lincoln-Sudbury

When/Where: Saturday, Sept. 10, 2:30 p.m., Doucette Field, Tewksbury.

Why Go: Opening day of the high school football season and the Redmen are ready to rock.

Farewell to A Novel Cafe

When/Where: Saturday, Sept. 5, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., A Novel Cafe, 464 Main St.

Why Go: A Novel Cafe was open for less than a year but it developed a devoted following. Larry Gilbert should be there, performing one more time. And you will find some amazing bargains on books.

Free Showing of X-Men: First Class

When/Where: Saturday, Sept. 10. 2 p.m., Tewksbury Public Library, 300 Chandler St.

Why Go: Wasn't this movie just in theaters? This is the first in the library's red-hot Must-See Movie Matinees. All movies that are fresh out of the theaters.

Pricing: Free

10th Anniversary of 9/11 Attacks

When/Where: Saturday, Sept. 11, 8:46 to 11 a.m., 9/11 Memorial at the Tewksbury Public Library, 300 Chandler St.

Why Go: this is a chance to remember 3,000 men, women and children, including two Tewksbury residents, who lost their lives in the worst terror attack on U.S. soil ever.

Pricing: Free

9/11 Memorial Concert

When/Where: Sunday, Sept. 11, 8 p.m., Central Congregational Church, 1 Worthen St, Chelmsford.

Why Go: Again, this is a chance to remember and reflect on the 9/11 attacks.

Pricing: Free
