Pair Arrested In Connection With Burglary Of Grieving Family's Home

Home broken into while family was at wake.

A Billerica man and a Tewksbury woman have been arrested and charged in connection with the burglary of the home of a grieving family.

Michael Shannon, 19, of 33 Devonshire Drive, Billerica and Julia Didonato, 20, of 15 Oakland Ave, Tewksbury are each charged with receiving stolen property with a value in excess of $250.

They are charged in connection with a burglary that took place on Dec. 12 at 117 Elm St., Tewksbury. The home is the residence of the Fleury family and the crime took place while the family was attending the wake for Wayne Fleury.

According to information provided by Tewksbury Police, detectives located property belonging to the victims at a pawn shop in Methuen. Further investigation indicated that the property had been pawned by Shannon and DiDonato.

According to the police report, detectives arrested DiDonato at her home in Tewksbury on Feb. 13.  Shannon was arrested at the Motel 6 in Tewksbury on Feb. 15.

Police say the stolen property they recovered at the pawn shop will be returned to the Fleury family.

These two have no conscience. They are probably the same two that steal items off of grave sites. This crime was totally despicable and they should get what is coming to them.

What they and all young people at have an addiction to some sort of drug should be a public funded treatment program.
It is much cheaper to treat the junkies and addicts and get them clean then to hire more police, spend more money on the over worked courts, house and feed them in jails for years and safer for the public that will have less crime and safer community's for our children.
The Hell with the church that says to ignore the problems with it and turn your cheek.
We need to nip it all in the bud NOW before it gets more out of control.

Stick them in jail for a year ... See how long they last! If you want to be a tough guy/girl then they should be punished the same way... Their fat baby faces would be crying for mom and dad after a week!!

What a couple of pigs. They should be sent to jail, but probably just end up getting probation and welfare. Then these two pieces of filth can keep stealing, and she can keep turning tricks at the Motel 6. When will those hotbeds of illicit activity be monitored more closely to keep this crap out of the area. Are the Tewksbury Police too busy setting up speed traps on 38 to ticket people going 5 mph over the speed limit? That's more important than keeping thieves, drug addicts, and hookers out of town, right? Great job.

It is sick what these 2 did...that is what drug addiction does...it is the devil....it steals your sole...it ruins everyone around you's spirit as well as the addict. I hope someday the government will seize the opportunity once and for all about DRUGS and all the problems that it has caused! Educate your children, and those with young kids, educate yourselves now, before it might be to late. We can not get ride of drug dealers, but we can definitely educate.

That girl slept at my house in 2nd grade - it is SO sad to see what she has become. I am SO livid about this - Wayne was my friend's brother. Why the HECK did these kids think that it would be a good idea to exacerbate the misery that this poor family was going through. LOSERS.

If they are really junkies then maybe send them for extended treatment. It will cost less to send them there then to jail who will just turn them more against the world.

Notice how its receiving stolen property and not B&E. I guarantee you the cops are humiliating them and teaching them a lesson to get the people that did break in. I guarantee half of you people's kids are junkies and you don't even know it yet. You know why Tewksbury's full of junkies? It's because of loser parents handing over hundreds of dollars a week to spoiled brats that have no idea how to work for something- and not asking the kids where the money goes or to earn that money. You "parents" create these monsters that don't show you or anyone/anything the slightest bit of respect. They think the world is a joke, and that whatever they want they can take. Wake up and make sure your hands are clean before you start pointing the finger at someone else...

There names was not on the items. If they where then game stop would have called the police 2 months ago.
As for they should have asked where they came from. The items came from a friend of theres that told them they where left to her by her younger brother Josh who died by OD in November.
You all smell blood in the water and are acting like a bunch of sharks.
Wait until the trial and see what happens and what information comes to light before passing judgement.
They where arrested and was helpful with telling every thing they knew about it. And that is why there free and not in jail.
There is more to the story so just sit tight and wait.
Almost all the items have been returned. And all the most important part was all the information on the external hd and laptop has been returned undamaged.

I know these parents and I grew up with her sister. She comes from a good family so before you go blaming the parents get your story straight and stop being so ignorant.
What these two did was no doubt, disgusting and wrong on so many levels, and it makes me sick to think that someone could do that. But DO NOT make the mistake of thinking that any of you have any place blaming the parents and the family. I can't speak for Michael because I don't know him, but I know for a fact that Julia has good parents and a great sister and she just went down a wrong path. Maybe blame the school system and lack of drug control and awareness programs in our town. Perhaps if they put less money into things like a new senior center and paying for the poor faculty of our schools and put more into the future of the kids things like this wouldn't happen. And never go pointing fingers at other people's children and family because you never know how yours will end up,it's sad that I'm probably 20+ years younger than most of you and I know better.

I actually blame you, parents and the grandparents. Serioulsly...blame the schools? What about all the other kids at school? How come they are not doing drugs and breaking into houses of dead people? Because they have parents that care. These two gang'stas will break into the wrong house someday where the owner isnt dead and has a shotgun.

Obviously you don't know better! You are blaming the schools and the town for them choosing the wrong path? Good grief! The problem is in their mirror.

6:25 am on Wednesday, February 20, 2013

You blame me? That's interesting. You need to understand that I am not making excuses for what they did. It was wrong and disgusting and any person with a conscience wouldn't do something like this. But I am telling you, I KNOW these parents, I was close friends with her sister growing up. My parents were VERY strict about who's houses I could hang out in, and this house was one I was allowed to stay at because her parents are good respectable people. And if her parents are as bad as you say, how did her sister grow into a hardworking good person? Some people take the wrong path in life and unfortunately this is what happened to Julia but don't blame her parents if you don't know them.

Unfortunately every family has the one person or few people with a problem. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones...unless your entire bloodline has a crystal clear record and is a perfect upstanding real life Mary Poppins, don't judge other people's families because God forbid if your kid or niece or nephew did something like this you would be pretty enraged at the comments blaming you or someone in your family.
I don't have patience for your ignorance. All I'm asking is that before you point fingers and make terrible comments about someone's upbringing or family, make sure you know what you're talking about.

they should be punished severely, however this is Massachusetts and they will be rewarded instead! their lawyers (paid for by us) will get them off on their addictions, they will then be entitled for all kinds of freebies courtesy of the taxpayers, let's see free rehab, free welfare EBT cards Masshealth the list goes on and on!

I have never seen so many inconsiderate adults in my life. Being once a "junkie" as you nice people on here call them, I do not stand up for these two but it is NONE of your business! You do not need to spend your time worrying about them because believe me when i say they are already suffering worse then any of you have in your lives with just their addiction alone. And if your not happy with Tewksbury, do something about it! Move!

So according to you..nothing to see here folks ..move along. and .its nobody's business that they break into homes, steal what is not theirs, sell it at a pawn shop to feed their drug habit, end up on welfare that we all pay for. Hopefully one of these crazed crack addicts makes their way to your home to steal your belongings, maybe then you will be happy that other people make it their business.

So what you saying is that even through they didnt have anything to do with the breakin there just as guilty. Then in that case the united states government is at fault for 911 as they financed Bin laden 20 years ago via the cia as a hired thug in the middle east.

Seeing that i know for a fact they told the police who asked them to sell the items and there not being charged with B&E as they are fully corporateing with the police and no bail was required in this case. Shows the police are going the guilty party that broke into the home with a warrant out for her arrest. I will not say who she is on here incase someone who reads this sees her name and tips her off that the police are looking for her.

Marc. I do feel for your loss, I really do. I spent a good deal of my own money when I bought most of your brothers items when I thought it was not stolen. And I did find out after finding a receipt for your brother hard drive in the laptop bag. I ended up looking up the name and address on Google and found out all about the house being broken into and all the items i bought where the same ones stolen from your brothers home. I contacted Mike and informed him that his friends story of the items did not come from her recent deceased brother that was left to her to sell but was in fact stolen from your brothers Wayne's home. I told him I didn't know what I was going to do yet. I soon decided after seeing the reports of his children loosening there video game consoles and there father life long work and pictures on his laptop. There was only one choice for me and that was to return everything to the Wayne's family. I felt good about my decision and the joy it must have brought your family to have there memorises returned and back in safe hands. I spoke to mike about it and he agreed it should have been returned as well just didn't know how. He was lied to where it came from and i paid $300 of my money to buy them in good faith. And I know i am doing the right thing.
