Nearly 20 community leaders, educators and parents gathered at Dewing Elementary School last week to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss (Theodor Geisel) and to assist the school in participating for the first time in the Read Across America program.
The guest readers, who included members of the Board of Selectmen and School Committee, among others, read to Dewing students in the first and second grades.
Members of the Read Across America Committee include co-chairs Kathy Carleton and Kathy McDErmott, as well as Elizabeth Robinson, Robyn Hakala, Donna Greene, Christa Covino and Kristen Kosiba.
