Police Investigating Motorcycle Fire

Brooks Field House at High School football field broken into.

 

Police are investigating a rare motorcycle fire that occurred Thursday evening behind Beach Pizza and Bakery at 1899 Main St.

According to a police report, an anonymous call came into the station at around 8:30 p.m., reporting that there was a large group of teens gathered their residence. Two officers responded to the location and discovered a motorcycle engulfed in flames.

A fire truck was called to the scene to extinguish the blaze. No injuries were reported.

Investigators are trying to determined who set the vehicle on fire and why. According to police, they know who owns the motorcycle and are working to make contact.

Brooks Field House broken into

Police are investigating a break-in at the Brooks Field House adjacent to Doucette Field. The building houses locker rooms, coaches rooms and a weight room for Tewksbury High athletics.

The burglary was discovered around 9 a.m. Thursday and reported to police. Det. Mulvey was called to the field house to take photos of the scene.

According to Tewksbury High Athletic Director Brian Hickey, no vandalism was done to the building and only a couple of small items were stolen.

Traffic stop leads to arrest

An East Boston resident was arrested following a routine traffic stop on Main Street.

Adilson Souza, 37, was pulled over at TD Bank, 2345 Main St. After a brief investigation, Souza was arrested for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Where there's smoke there's ... breakfast?

Police and fire units responded to the ICF Center at 630 East St. Friday morning around 7:20 a.m. in response to a box alarm.

However, responding officers quickly learned that the smoke smelled and seen was actually coming from a frying pan in the kitchen.
