This is 1/2 mile from my house and I did not receive a code red alert. I'm not sure I trust their locale criteria in alerting people.

Melissa - Did you enroll for CodeRED? Make sure you register your cell phone, home phone if you have one and your business phone, as well as email addresses.
Here's the link to enroll: http://cne.coderedweb.com/Default.aspx?groupid=EBHWGJccHQoNDDzxhABs%2fQ%3d%3d

My aunt who lives on Pine got a reverse 911 (she's not enrolled in code red). I enrolled in code red 2 weeks ago and got neither a code red or a reverse 911.

I live in the area and got an email and voicemails on both my home and cell phones... within 12 minutes of the reported break in.

I'm about a mile away. Maybe they figured anyone committing a crime would get away from the area quickly. They could later canvas for eyewitnesses.

I received calls on both my phones around 2:35. Kudos to our police department keeping the public informed. Such a dangerous, hard, stressful and thankless job they have. God Bless and keep our law enforcement safe.

I live in the area where the break in took place. I received the e-mail for the Code Red after 3:30 pm. I received the phone call for the Code Red around 2:45 pm. 5 police cars show up including the k-9 unit and a sheriff car. I was outside when the police officer came by with the police dog. He did not ask if I had seen or heard anything, which I did not.

So did the "CODE RED" alert even work?? Seems like a lot of hoopla if the guy didn't even get caught.

I would never know if I got a reverse 911 because I actually still have dial-up and I've been on the compuer fo hours! Didn't enroll in CODE RED because I think it requires a fancier cell phone from what I have.

OK, so 5'5", white baseball cap. . . what else? White, African-American, Hispanic? Yes, I AM asking for Profile info! I don't want to be wasting my time looking for a golden retriever when it's a German Shep that bit a kid, hypothetically, and is on the loose! I want every relevant detail I can get!

You don't need a fancy cell phone and if you have a land line you will receive the call that way. Get yourself hooked up to CODE RED it really is a very useful tool for the police and for the school system to get their message out fast and to as many people as they can at once.
