Ashley, Rachel and Julie Figucia and Janina Kennedy collected trash from along three streets in their neighborhood to help the environment.

When Ashley Figucia told her father last month she needed to do a project that would help the environment, he suggest a neighborhood trash cleanup.

Ashley recruited her sisters, Rachel and Julie, and her friend Janina Kennedy, and the quartet patroled three streets in their neighborhood. In all, they collected three bags filled with trash and made their small part of Tewksbury more attractive.

This photo of the four young environmentalists was submitted by Paul Figucia.

Great job girls!! We are all proud of what you have done. Maybe some more young people in Tewksbury could follow suit. This is great exercise and helps the community.
