The Tewksbury Youth Hockey Bantam A team recently celebrated a Division Championship win on Saturday, April 7th, defeating Cape Ann 7-2.

After a close semifinal game against Newton earlier in the week, Tewksbury wasn’t taking any chances; they came to win.  Rico DiFronzio put Tewksbury on the scoreboard first late in the first period assisted by Michael Lirakis.  DiFronzio added another goal a minute later assisted by Sean Barker and Evan Frocione.

The outstanding net minding of Dominic Rosmarinoski and the strong defensive skating of  Hayden Rice and Josh Rizzo put Tewksbury in the lead 2-0 heading into the second period. Tewksbury’s Nathan Dooley added a goal in the second period but Cape Ann quickly answered back.  The coordinated defense of Jack MacMullin and Matteo Napolitano  and the tremendous goal tending by Chris Raymond, who had since taken over the Tewksbury net, allowed Tewksbury to enter the third period holding a 3-1 lead.

Tewksbury was the first to score in the third period with an unassisted goal by Owen MacEachern.  Cape Ann wasn’t going down  without a fight and answered back minutes later. Brandon Fernandes, Timmy Sullivan and Tim Morris kept the pressure in Cape Ann’s end while the Tewksbury defense of Anthony McNeil and Robbie Agruso provided relieve to the Tewksbury net.  Tewksbury added 3 more goals during the third period winning a well played Championship game, 7-2.
