Prisoner Assaults Officers, Subdued with Taser

Two arrested in separate domestic assault incidents.

 

A 27-year-old New Hampshire man faces multiple charges after allegedly assaulting officers at Tewksbury Police Headquarters.

Timothy P. McCann, of 34 Lowe St. in Derry, NH, is charged with two counts of assault and one count of resisting arrest.

According to information provided by the TPD, the incident began around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, when a 911 caller said she saw a man, possibly intoxicated, walking along Kendall Street.

Officers responded to the scene and talked to the McCann. An officer gave him a courtesy ride to the Mobil On The Run and then another courtesy ride back to Kendall Street.

That's when things took a turn for the worse.

According to officers, McCann became combative and he was placed in protective custody and brought to Police Headquarters. Once there, he allegedly remained combative and the situation escalated to the point where Lt. James Williams was forced to use a taser to subdue McCann.

McCann was arrested and was transported to Saints Medical Center for observation.

Man charged with assault and battery

Police received a call at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, reporting that a couple on Bemis Circle was arguing loudly. The caller said they were afraid it was going to turn violent.

Three units responded the scene. Officers reported seeing visible injuries on the female in the home. An ambulance was called but there was no transport or treatment.

Police arrested Kevin M. McNulty, 26, of 11 Bemis Circle, and charged him with asault and battery.

Woman charged with assault and battery

Police received a 911 call at 12:41 p.m. Sunday, reporting a domestic assault on Archstone Avenue.

Officers responded to the scene and, after an investigation, arrested Amy Dobson, 32, of 1202 Archstone Ave., and charged her with assault and battery.

Car smashes into convenience store

Rescue crews responded to a two-car accident at 160 Shawsheen St. at 5:46 p.m. on Saturday.

One of the cars involved smashed into the Tewksbury Convenience Mart. Minor damage to the building was reported. There were no injuries.

Man arrested for violating restraining order

Police received a 911 call at around 2 p.m. on Saturday from a woman reporting that she came home to find her ex-boyfriend waiting for her in her driveway. The woman reported she had a restraining order against the man.

Officers responded to the scene. The man had left the driveway, but officers caught up with him at the intersection of Whipple and Avon. Daniel R. Dufault, 36, of 1441 Whipple Road, was charged with violating a restraining order.

Arrests

Joanne Moore, 53, 24 W. Third St., Apt. 2, Lowell, was charged with shoplifting, after an incident at Wal-Mart on Saturday.

Melissa Leanne Senesi, 80 Whipple Road, Billerica, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
