Puccia Returns For Another Shot at School Committee
Han Bernier joins race for Town Clerk.
Just when it looked as if the School Committee race would be uncontested, a face from the past has apparently returned for another campaign.
Lisa Puccia has taken out nomination papers for school committee, joining Brian Dick, according to information provided by the office of the Town Clerk. Puccia was defeated in a hotly contested committee election last spring.
The committee seat available is presently held by Chairman Michael Kelley, who has chosen not to seek re-election.
Also taking out nomination papers a the 11th hour is Han Bernier, who appears poised to join the race for Town Clerk. Assistant Clerk Denise Graffeo has retruned papers to be onthe ballot. Incumbent Clerk Mary-Ann O'Brien Nichols has taken out papers for re-election but has not yet returned them. Below is an updated nomination status, as of Thursday, Feb. 10.
To get on the ballot of the April 2 election, candidates must return nomination papers with the signatures of 50 certified registered voters not later than 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 14.
The Town Clerk's office is open Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
