Races Are Taking Shape As Nomination Papers Are Certified
Candidates have just over a week left to become eligible for the April 6 Election.
The races are beginning to take shape for the 2013 Tewksbury Municipal election, as candidates return nomination sheets and the needed 50 signatures of registered Tewksbury voters are verified by the Town Clerk's Office.
Four candidates are now officially on the ballot for the Board of Selectmen -- incumbent Todd Johnson and challengers Mary Ellen Fernald, Jim Wentworth and Richard Menard.
But that race could grow become much more of a scramble if Robert Rosa, Ken Miano and Robert Marcin also get their nomination sheets certified.
Incumbent Krissy Polimeno and challenger Raymond Lisiecki are on the ballot for the two seats up for grabs on the School Committee. Challenger Lisa Puccia has also returned her papers, though they have not yet been certified.
Incumbents Christine Kinnon and Philip French are both officially on the ballot for the two three-year terms up for grabs on the Board of Health. If James Killion has his nomination papers certified that will become a race.
Two potential candidates -- Raymond Barry and Joseph Knight -- have taken out nomination papers for race to serve out the final two years of Edward Sheehan's term on the Board of Health. Sheehan resigned last month after 16 years on the board.
Candidates have until Feb. 19 to return nomination papers with at least 50 valid signatures of registered Tewskbury voters to secure a spot on the April 6 ballot.

I am confused. Did Rick O'Neill take out nomination papers for Shawsheen Tech School Committee or didn't he?

Thanks for the typo catch Jo. Yes, he took out papers but has not turned them in. It has been fixed now.
