PHOTOS: Redmen LAX Beat Heat and Wilmington, 9-5
Tewksbiury builds an early 5-1 lead and rolls to a 9-5 victory.
The Tewksbury boys lacrosse team beat the heat, and took down host Wilmington while they were at it.
During an unseasonably warm Monday morning contest, the Redmen snagged a 5-1 lead at halftime and held on for a 9-5 win thanks to timely goals in the second frame that helped fight off a Wildcat charge.
10 led the charge with a game-high four goals, 3 had two scores, and three other Redmen cracked the scorebook as well as Tewksbury High improved to 4-3 on the season.
The only downside of the game for the locals was an injury to 23, who suffered a knee injury in the third quarter and was carted to an ambulance following the final horn.
