The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association released its postseason brackets over the weekend, featuring four Tewksbury High School teams that will begin action in the upcoming days.

Boys Hockey

Tewksbury hopes to rebound from its regular season ending loss to Wilmington like it did two years ago when the Redmen lost 6-0 to the Wildcats before going on to win the state championship.

This year's playoff run begins with a Tuesday game against Watertown, set for 5:30 p.m. inside Stoneham Arena. The winner of that tilt faces off against either Newburyport or Concord-Carlisle in the quarterfinal round on Friday.

A potential dream scenario could play out for local hockey fans. Wilmington and Tewksbury are on the opposite side of the North Division 2 bracket, meaning they could square off in the finals with a berth in the state title game on the line.

Derek Petti will lead the Redmen into the tournament as a key player. The senior ranks among the top scorers in the state and is one of the most talented Redmen to ever lace up the skates.

Girls Hockey

Methuen/Tewksbury's girls hockey team qualified for the postseason as well, snagging the No. 20 seed in the Division 2 bracket.

The team hosts Norwell in the preliminary round today (Feb. 25) at 4:15 p.m. at Metheun High. The winner of that game skates against Canton at 4:30 p.m. at the Metropolis Canton on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

Boys Basketball

Led by second year head coach Phill Conners, Tewksbury travels to Arlington for a preliminary round game in the North Division 2 playoffs.

The Redmen enter as the No. 17 seed in the bracket, tipping off at 7 p.m. on Monday against the No. 16 squad. The winner of that contest travels to Melrose, the top-ranked team in Division 2, on Thursday.

Girls Basketball

Thanks to a 10-9 record on the season, the Lady Redmen will suit up in the playoffs as well.

Tewksbury is the No. 11 seed in the tournament, earning a date with sixth-seeded North Andover. Tip off for that game comes on Wednesday at 7 p.m. with the winner advancing to face Salem or Arlington Catholic in the quarterfinal round.
