Tewksbury 2, Dracut 2

Tewksbury High came close to spoiling Senior Night for host Dracut High, but had to settle for a 2-2 tie.

Michelle Creedon and Amanda Schiavone had the goals for Tewksbury. Sciavone's goal came in the second half and gave the Redmen a 2-1 lead. But late in the game, Dracut managed to sneak in a goal and escape with the tie.

Tewksbury Senior Tyler Slavin fired an 83 to place 9th in the MVC Championship Tournament at Vesper Country Club. Central Catholic's Tyler Nelson took the top spot with a 4-over par 76.

Girls Cross Country

Billerica 16, Tewksbury 41

Andover 18, Tewksbury 39

The Tewksbury High girls cross country team closed its dual meet season with losses to Billerica and Andover in a double-dual meet. The Redmen were running without two of their top runners, Katrina Dick and Caitlyn Leary.

Leading the way for Tewksbury (2-8) was Carina Berglund, who placed 8th overall in a time of 19:26 over the 2.9 mile course.

Berglund was followed by senior Samantha McGouldrick (11th, 20:09), Olivia Boudreau (13th, 20:23), Rachel McCabe (14th, 20:24) and Bridget Blair (21st, 21:30).

"We ran quite well," said TMHS Coach Peter Malloy. "I didn’t record the splits this race but they were pretty fast!  Most girls ran close to their PR’s at two miles and they still had 9/10 of a mile to go. Our pack time 1-4 was :57 and that’s without Dickie & Leary!  We’ll be a force in the coming weeks/months/years."
