Tewksbury 3, Bedford 2

Kelli Sugrue had a monster game, leading Tewksbury High to a dramatic 3-2 win over Bedford High on Friday.

The win improves the Redmen to 8-9 on the season and keeps their hopes for a State Tournament berth. Tewksbury will take on Dracut on Tuesday, as part of MVC Volleyball Night. A win puts the Redmen in the tournament, a loss ends their season.

But Tewksbury nearly lost their tournament hopes, dropping two of the first three sets to Bedford, 18-25, 25-22 and 21-25. But the Redmen rallied to take the fourth set, 25-20, and squeaked out a dramatic 15-13 win in the deciding fifth set

Sugrue had nine aces, 20 Kills and four blocks to lead the victory. Tiffanie Marsh and Alyson Mulloy had 15 digs each, while Shannon McLaughlin played another strong game with seven kills and three aces.
