Redmen Will Visit Reading Again in Football Semifinal

For the second year in a row, Tewksbury High's road to the Super Bowl will travel through Reading.

After last year, the Tewksbury High football team knows how to get to the Division 2 Super Bowl -- literally.

For the second straight year, the Redmen, champions of the MVC Small School Division will travel to Reading High for a Division 2 playoff game against the host Rockets, champions of the Middlesex League Liberty Division.

The date and time for the game have not yet been set. the winner will advance to the Division 2 Super Bowl, which this year will be played at Bentley College in Waltham.

Last year, Tewksbury used a stifling defense to pull off a 21-6 upset win over the Rockets an advance to the Super Bowl at Gillette Stadium, where the Redmen fell to Duxbury, ranked No. 2 in the state.

This year, Tewksbury will be looking to use its explosive, multi-faceted offense to punch its ticket for the title game.

But first things first. Tewksbury (5-4), hosts Dracut on Saturday and closes out the regular season on Thanksgiving Day on the road at Wilmington.

Congrats to the Redmen. Bill can you please tell me why you never cover the teams from Shawsheen Tech? There are many athletes from Tewksbury that make up the teams from Shawsheen. It would be nice to see you give them some coverage once and a while.
