Victim was kidnapped at Motel 6 on Dec. 26.

Tewksbury Police have apprehended a second suspect in connection with a carjacking/kidnapping that took place on the day after Christmas.

Tayla Spencer, 18, of 16 Fowler St, Dorchester, is charged with Kidnapping, Armed Assault with Intent to Murder, Armed Robbery, Carjacking and Conspiracy.

According to Police Chief Timothy Sheehan, Spencer was arrested on Jan. 21 in Boston after the Tewksbury Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for her. The arrest was made with the assistance from the Boston Police Department.

The arrest is in connection with an incident that took place on Dec. 26. Officers  responded to the Motel 6 for a report of a person being kidnapped and forced into their vehicle. The victim told police he escaped in Lowell and reported the suspect had stolen his vehicle.

The victim told investigators he was held at knife point at the Motel 6 and was threatened to be killed if he did not comply with the suspects demands. He said he was robbed of personal belongings and beaten.

The stolen vehicle was recovered in Roxbury on New Year's Day.

Jeffrey Venter was the first suspect arrested and was arraigned at Lowell District Court on Jan. 2. Spencer was arraigned on Jan. 22.

I wish they would close the two motels in Tewkbsury DOWN. They bring all unwelcomed people to the town and it's an eye sore to see the run down motels and the people that come out of those two places. Its insane that such a nice town would have those places still open for business. Half the people that stay there commit some sort of crime and bring criminals to our town. I would they would close it down and build something better..... Everytime I see the motel in the news it always has people in it from surrouonding towns involved in it.

Sandra,

Close down the hotels that bring unwelcomed people to town? Please clarify by what you term unwelcomed? However, in following your argument, you would need to include Ocean State Job Lot and Walmart. They seem to attract what you deem unwelcomed. Can I add to your list? I despise fat, unhealthy, lazy and non-medically overweight people. Can I include McDonalds and the two Burger King's to your list? Your assertion is ridiculous as is the example I included.

When I say unwelcomed, people that stay at the hotels to commit a crime.Just like in the story this is related too.... The hotels brings unwanted people that come to the cheap hotels to stay and cause problems for the town. Non medical over weight people are not causing problems as your example relates too, they may be causing them selves a medical problem but noone else. But thats neighter here nor their. Were this story related to a women who lives in Boston and came to the hotel, robbed, kiddnapped a person and held them at the hotel in Tewksbury. And to your other comments about the stores has no relevance to this at all. The stores are not having people being kidd napped or help capive or soliciting people for sex. As these hotels have been in the news for that exact things. Thats what I meant by unwelcomed, these hotels have people doing bad stuff in them and there well known for that. God the hotel is $250 a week, well I wonder why people would stay there. CHEAP comes to mind for one.

Sandra,

So it is a class issue. If someone cannot afford a $500 per week hotel...we don't want them. You would like to maintain your Puritan perfect town by not attracting outsiders? Unless they have money of course. Right?

No, not a class thing at all. But you put a run down cheap hotel in town, its not going to attract the best people.I wouldn't stay at any of those two places even if you paid me. And Cecil, last I recall freedom of speech allows me to say what's on my mind. And no this town isn't perfect, clearly that's why were going back and forth right now. You know as well as I know those 2 places are just trash... It has nothing to do with anyone or anything that's "my" opinion and I'm going to state it. If those hotels weren't here, a lot of crimes wouldn't happen in our town or anyone eles town for that matter.
