The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Tewksbury and surrounding communities through 9 p.m. with heavy rain and strong winds in the forecast.

And a Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Tewksbury through 2:30 p.m. A flash flood warning was also issued through 5:30 p.m.

Thunderstorms are expected this afternoon into this evening.

Storms could bring "damaging winds" and "large hail along with torrential downpours," according to NWS.
