UPDATED: State Police Searching for Wilmington Home Invasion Suspect

Suspect "known to police."

 

UPDATED 12 p.m.

State Police are combing the area by land and air, search for a suspect in a home invasion that took place in Wilmington this morning.

Originally, State Police reported that the crime had taken place in Tewksbury. However, they corrected themselves and now say it took place on the Wilmington side of the town line.

According to information provided by the State Police press office, the suspect is believed to have fled the scene of the home invasion in a vehicle, then dumped the vehicle in Lowell and fled on foot.

According to the press office, State Police have identified the suspect, who is known to police. His name is not being released at this time.
