Tewksbury B&E Suspect Nabbed in New Hampshire
Burglary was interrupted because resident was in the house.
An arrest has been made in connection with an attempted break-in on Starbird Avenue last month.
According to Tewksbury Police Chief Tim Sheehan, Ryan Shruhan, 29, of 64 Temple St, Lowell, was located in Nashua and arrested as a fugitive from justice. The arrest was made with the assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the Nashua NH Police Department,
Sheehan provided the following account of the events that led to Shruhan being charged:
"On March 24, 2011, at 12:29 p.m., the Tewksbury Police Department responded to 11 Starbird Ave for a report that an individual had broken into a home while the home owner was inside. The suspect fled the area in a vehicle before officers arrived, but a witness was able to relay the vehicle’s registration plate to arriving Police Officers."
Investigative work by Tewksbury detectives identified the owner and operator of the vehicle as Shruhan and a warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of breaking and entering.
According to Sheehan, Shruhan was also wanted by the Billerica Police Department for a house break-in there.. Shruhan was brought back to Massachusetts earlier today to be arraigned.
