Students and teachers at the John Ryan School may have noticed that 11-year-old Tanner Lentz is sporting quite the new look these days.
Gone are the baggy jeans and off-center caps, replaced by sporty ensembles and $200 sneakers.
And who gets the credit for this change? None other than TV host Steve Harvey. According to an article published in the Lowell Sun, Lentz's mother responded to a Craig's list ad looking for parents who wanted their kids to get a style makeover.
Andrea Lentz responded to the ad and, ultimately, Tanner was chosen to be featured on the show, according to the Sun article.
Tanner's segment on the Steve Harvey show will be broadcast Friday, Sept. 14 at 10 a.m. on Ch. 5 WCVB.

How fun for him...but how sad that "stylish" equals $200. sneakers

At 11 years old, he's probably still growing too. Maybe he'll get one or two years tops out of them. However it's his parents' money, so I suppose at the end of the day it's their choice as to how they spend it, even if it does seem kind of frivolous.

I had the feeling that the show gave him the new sneakers. Its too bad that they were told he would be on todays show and then he wasn't....
