It has always been my practice to make an effort that whenever I am introduced to a serviceperson, or pass buy one, I take a moment to introduce myself and shake their hand in appreciation for their dedication and loyalty to this great nation of ours. They are all exemplary of a true American unselfishly put their lives on the line for the benefit and safety the great United States of America. They are more than heroes; they are the epitomy what we stand for. I think that all Americans should make this a daily habit and I guarentee that this gesture will bring all Americans closer together. Thanks to all of our servicemen.

Spread the word, share this article and tell your friends and family to add photos of as many of our local heroes as possible. I know we've got dozens of men and women either serving now or who just ended their hitch. And that doesnt even count the older veterans. Let's fill up this gallery.

God Bless them all. Especially glad to see Todd Elliot and his daughter Rylee (a new graduate) following her Dad into the Army. It wasn't mentioned that Todd is on the Tewksbury Fire Department. Real proud of all these men and women who put their lives on the line for us every day. They are truly our local heroes!!!!

My 2 cousins served in Vietnam, one as a medic (Frank Petrillo of Tewksbury), and (James Novello, deceased, of Beverly as an infantryman) The amazing thing is neither one knew the other was over there until they accidently met one day! They shared some time together. I always make it a habit to thanks them for what they did in order to preserve our freedom. They unselfishly put their lives on the line for USA. I am very proud of them and my living cousin and I get together and talk about things. These are 2 good men and should be recognized for their self-sacrifice. Semper Fi.
