Tewksbury Man Arraigned On Charge Of Vehicular Homicide
67-year-old woman was killed in a head-on crash in Ayer in 2011.
A 22-year-old Tewksbury man pled not guilty to a charge of vehicular homicide in connection with an early morning crash that killed a 67-year-old Ayer woman in Ayer last year.
Xavier Roman appeared in Ayer District Court last week, after being indicted by a grand jury in connection with the death of Claire Boudreau on Nov. 15, according to a report published in the Lowell Sun.
Ayer Police say Roman, who was driving a box truck, told them he fell asleep at the wheel and crossed over into the wrong lane. He woke up and tried to swerve back but struck a Prius driven by Boudreau
Bail was set at $1,000 on the vehicular homicide charge. However, Roman also has a pending gun charge in Lowell from October 2011. As a result of the new charge, Roman's bail on the gun charge has been revoked and he is being help pending his next court appearance, according to the report in the Sun.
