Tewksbury Man Charged in Bizarre Animal Cruelty Case

Man is charged in the deaths of five cats that had been gifts to his girlfriend.

A Tewksbury man was arraigned in Ayer District Court this week, accused of killing five cats belonging to his girlfriend.

Fabio Finn, 28, of 298 Lancaster Drive, pled not guilty to five counts of animal cruelty. He was released on his own recognizance, according to a story published in the Sentinel and Enterprise.

The case has bizarre circumstances, as Finn's (now ex) girlfriend told police that each of the cats he allegedly killed he had bought for her between July and August 2011. She said each time he gave her a new cat, he killed it a short time later, according to the Sentinel and Enterprise story.

A sixth cat, which Finn claims to have given to a friend in January, remains unaccounted for. As part of his release, the judge told Finn he is not allowed to own any animals.

Anyone who harms poor, helpless animals is a certified loser.

Whoever harms a domesticated animal is an animal themselves with no conscience. He should be severely punished for this!

This man was released after killing 5 cats??? And gets a mere slap on the wrist by the judge saying he just can't own any animals? That's it? Who's going to police that judgment? This man should be in jail for killing 5 innocent animals. And most likely, he will kill more. If only the cats were able to scratch his eyes out, they could have done what the law doesn't seem able to do.

Anyone that can inflict harm on an innocent animal, can also do so to a human. This man apparently lacks a conscience and it sickens me that he has been released on his own recognizance. He is a threat to the community. And what is wrong with his girlfriend that she didn't report him sooner? And she kept the cats each time he brought them home knowing he had killed the prior cats?

Punishment is TOO light for those who abuse animals. They are living creatures too.

I'm locking my five cats indoors. Its like a child predator except for animals.... sick. He should be locked up. What I don't get is after the first case of him bringing home a cat and then killing it shortly after, the next time a cat was brought home why didn't the girlfriend immediately bring it to the mspca to ensure something didn't happen again?

Obviously, the girlfriend has a problem, but should at least be cited for not reporting a crime at least 4 times prior - cruelty and abuse to an animal. It is a crime, although many people don't realize that, unfortunately.

Reading this makes me so angry that I'm going to buy a cat just so I can go home and kick it!
