Tewksbury Man Named Employee Of The Month In Sheriff's Office

Sgt. Paul Saunders hailed an "an exceptional role model."

Middlesex Sheriff Peter Koutoujian is proud to announce Sergeant Paul Saunders of Tewksbury, as Employee of the Month for December, 2011.

Sergeant Saunders works at the House of Correction in Billerica, MA on the 8-4 operations shift. He was nominated by his peers because of his enthusiastic dedication to public safety and leadership on the tiers at the Middlesex Sheriff's Office.

Sergeant Saunders is currently in charge of Pod A, which offers various programs for the inmates. His leadership has provided a safe and secure learning environment for both the corrections officers and inmates. Sergeant Saunders also was an instrumental part in the transition to a new treatment program. His institutional knowledge and energetic character played an important role in the implementation of the various treatment programs that will enable the inmates to better themselves.

Sergeant Saunders is an exceptional role model to the treatment population, combining a sincere interest for the welfare of the inmates without compromising his duties of custody and control.
