When investigating "white collar" crime, law enforcement agents often say they need to "follow the money."

Apparently, the same holds true for some burglaries.

Tewksbury Police are investigating a break-in at Main Street Liquors that took place early Wednesday morning (May 3). A call came in from Central Alarm at 2:59 a.m. reporting a general burglar alarm from the store, located at 391 Main St.

Three officers were sent to the scene and the first to arrive saw that the front door of the store had been smashed in. A K9 unit was immediately called in.

One of the officers investigating then noticed a money trail leading from the store, through the parking lot of the Ninety-Nine Restaurant and over to Main Street in the direction of the Motel Caswell.

A detective was then called in to lead the investigation. No further information is available on this time, but Tewksbury Patch will update this story as more information becomes available.

Arrests:

James Cross, 32, 131 Patrick Road, Tewksbury, was arrested on May 2 on an outstanding warrant.

Colby J. Golus, 30, 5 Patten Road, Billerica, was arrested on May 2 and charged with OUI-liquor (second offense), marked lanes violation and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Kasey Marie Poaletta, 22, 95 Main St., Apt. 241, was arrested on May 2 and charged with possession of a Class B substance.

On May 1, Marlene D. Lozada, 36, and Pedro L. Lozada, 39, both of 1070 Main St., were each arrested on outstanding warrants.

Robert Lee Sigman, 38, homeless, was arrested on April 30 and charged with assault and battery and intimidation of a witness.

William A. Medugno, 22, 18 Pringle St., Tewksbury, was arrested on April 30 on four outstanding warrants.

Additional incidents:

On May 3, A Walnut road resident called police at 8:49 a.m. to report that someone had rummaged through her car sometime overnight.

On May 3, at 10:24 a.m., patron of Gold's Gym reported that a car had been broken into in the parking lot.

On May 1, at 4:14 p.m., a Main Street woman reported that her 13-year-old daughter was out of control and threatening her with scissors. The girl was taken to Saints Medical Center for psychiatric evaluation.

On May 1, at 4:16 p.m., a Poplar St. resident reported that her home had been broken into. No additional information is available.
