UPDATED: Friday, 10:30 a.m.
A Tewksbury woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly causing an accident in Wilmington Tuesday morning in Wilmington and then fleeing the accident scene.
Wilmington Police allege Sara Brothers, 32, of 21 Hickory Lane, Tewksbury, was drunk behind the wheel when she struck another vehicle while driving on Salem Street at 1:11 a.m.
Salem Street was closed temporarily following the accident and Tewksbury Police provided assistance with the follow up.
According to Wilmington Police, when officers responded to the scene of the accident they found Brothers' vehicle abandoned at the scene. A short time later she was arrested and charged with OUI-liquor, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation.
The mother of the driver of the other car involved in the crash contacted Tewksbury Patch and said her son was taken to an area hospital and is recovering from his injuries.

Wrong information in this article. I love the patch but you need to double check facts before posting something that could ruin someones reputation.

Kristin, this information came directly from the Wilmington Police Department. The name, the charges, etc. If this is inaccurate, the problem is with the information the WPD made public.

Although this does make for good reading material I agree with Kristin you really should make sure you have correct information. I do not agree with drinking and driving at all but I think other facts of this incident were left out intentionally. . .

You would be surprised how much information is left out of police reports. News organizations are only as good as the info they get. If the facts are left out intentionally it's usually because the PD's don't tell them. It's not like Mr. Gilman can just walk into the WPD and interview the suspect.

Notihing good happens after 1:00am. I'm sure Sara forgot milk for the kids and was running out to a convenience store or perhaps she was getting home late from her 2nd job???
