Tisei: Government Should Stay Off Your Back And Out Of Your Bedroom

Congressional candidate visits Tewksbury Republican Committee.

_Republican Congressional candidate Richard Tisei_ is preparing to step up his campaign, announcing plans to open a campaign headquarters in Lynnfield on Saturday, Jan. 21.

But if the North Shore is home for Tisei, he recognizes that the GOP-rich Merrimack Valley will be the key to defeating Bill Hudak for the Republican nomination in the reconfigured 6th Congressional District.

On Monday, Jan. 9, Tisei stopped by the Bunting Club, to speak with members of the Tewksbury Republican Committee.

Tisai, who ran unsuccessfully for Lt. Governor in 2010, spent quite a while fielding questions from those in attendance. Many of the questions dealt with where Tisei stands on traditional conservative issues.

"I'm a Goldwater conservative," said Tisei, referring to the late Arizona senator. "I believe the government should get off your back, out of your wallet and away from the bedroom."

Tisei spent much of his time denouncing government waste, which he said can be found "marbled" throughout the "meat" of the federal government. He also singles out the Tea Party movement for revitalizing the conservative movement.
"The Tea Party has been a God-send to (Republicans)," he said. "They have been the people who work the country up and made it realize it was about to go over a cliff."

If Tisei can survive the primary fight with Hudak, he will be looking to unseat _incumbent Democrat John Tierney._

In addition to Tisei, _Tewksbury Selectman Doug Sears spoke_, making official his challenge to Democratic state Rep. Jim Micelli. State Rep. Paul Adams also spoke to the gathering.

Richard Tisei is a great candidate and a great human being. He has the support and respect of his community and the Repuublican Party. When he is known in this area most will agree with me. Tisei supports the issues that are good for the country. If you choose to crawl under the bar of decency you will find yourself on the wrong path. The path to destruction helps no one. I am proud to have this man in the race. I will not take sides between Bill Hudak or Richard Tisei at this stage of the election period. However, I do expect to raise the bar voting for candidates that have the courage and determination necessary to raise the bar. Candidates that have done their homework and make solid decisions that will get America back on the right path and out of the swamp. We have been sinking deeper and deeper each year. Both Parties caused our 401k's to be reduced and our homes devalued. Are you better off today than you were six months ago? Therefore I will vote for the person that has ideas and shares my values and goals for America. Please give this approach the thought that it deserves and join me in picking the candidate of your own choice. The candidates are great and running, but the voters need to improve and get serious. Our country is in very serious trouble. Be the one to help move us forward. It is time for Us to lead once again. Whining and blaming Bush backfired on my 401K. We can and must do better.

Hi Mike, I understand there will be debates in the future. I am not in a position to take sides prior to the Primaries, I simply do my best to provide a platform and attempt to keep the discussion civil. Treating others as I would like to be treated. We all have a right to our opinions. I am very friendly with both Candidates and believe that either will be a worthy opponent of John Tierney. I hope they will both participate in the discussions in the days ahead. They both love their country and that's a great starting point for me.

Sorry David, I stumbled over my computer and sent the previous message early. John Tierney is not a supporter of the Tea Party and I feel certain that Richard Tisei is. Most Voters that have heard the Republican positions tend to support them. There are a lot of issues that will guide this country in the future. Hopefully when we compare all the candidates we will find issues that we support and don't support. I too would like an answer to the question that troubles you. I will attempt to make Tisei aware of these questions and ask him to respond. I've found the candidate to be open and honest.Thank you for being concerned.

To the voters that are against a person that they probably don't even know, you are destroying yourself. I will continue to circle all the wagons that I can muster around a good and decent person. If you don't agree with Richard Tisei's position on the Cambridge vote, fine, don't vote for him. Most voters are able to get beyond the single issue vote and move forward. Especially when the Candidates vision for the future of this great country is so clear. Examine the voting records for all of the candidates in the sixth district and you will come to the same conclusion most have. Richard Tisei and Bill Hudak will lead America in the right direction. John Tierney has a long track record that has convinced me that he is not a worthy candidate for any race. As one of the Presidential candidates stated last night, are you better off today than you were 4 trillion dollars ago? Finally, "Let me say this about that". If Ted Kennedy or John Kerry had voted as Richard Tisei voted in Cambridge you would have thought it was a great idea. Men of tolerance and understanding. It's Cambridge being Cambridge their compulsive behavior wants the world to know how tolerant they are. When you purchase real estate in Cambridge you know exactly what you are getting. I won't define my relationship with you and I believe Richard has the same respect for his own relationship. Let's end the distractions and discuss the issues that will save America. It's time to elevate.

Mr, Beaupre:

You have your blog. Christ has His.
Again, what does "Jesus" say about homosexuality?
If I wanted to ask what Paul had to say, I would have asked you to quote from Paul.
As a Christian, I go the source and my source comes from the mouth of Jesus -- not from the letters of a convict blogger who gives his interpetation of His Word.

Again, what is the cite for that famous quote from the Christ in the Holy Gospel about homosexuals and how Christians should relate to them?

I want to make sure that your T-Party philosophy on this topic and the words of Christ on this topic are the same if I am to give you and your group any credibility.

Mr. Beaupre, I am a strong supporter of the Tea Party; your comments are gaining you attention at the expense of the Tea Party. I did review Tisei's voting record and although we would not vote the same on some issues, we would vote the same on the value of John Tierney's voting record and his value to the Commonwealth. Earlier When I referred to Tierney my point was whether or not we want another term with him at the helm? I have never seen a perfect candidate if we find one that comes close, don't destroy them. If we see one that is far from perfect we must say NO to without delay. Our country can not afford to have voters that are not going to raise all boats Hudak and Tisei will.

Its a shame that this guy is hijacking the tea party name to promote this crap. The tea party to me is all about restoring fiscal sanity to this nation. As for the marriage initiative it was not a "referendum" as you say. It was a constitutional amendment. You should review our constitution-there is a big difference.. For a referendum-you collect a certain amount of signatures to make a law and the question automatically goes on the ballot. Amending the constitution is different. You collect signatures then 2 separately elected sessions of the legislature have to vote to put the question on the ballot. We do that because changes to the constitution affects peoples individual rights and liberties. Our founding fathers wanted extreme care taken on questions of extending and taking away individual rights. In cases of amending the constitution the founders were not looking for the legislature to be a rubber stamp but instead for legislators to carefully consider the constitutional changes and use their best judgment. And that is exactly what happened.

Bill Hudak made a complete fool out of himself two years ago when he ran against Tierney. He spent all of his time having to explain why he put those disgusting signs on his lawn and why he was promoting Obama being born in Keyna. He lied about Scott Brown endorsing him and was caught. At the end of the campaign he sued Tierney for libel. If he is the nominee again we can kiss any chance of winning this seat goodbye.

Mr. Beaupre:

" Mr sears thank you for also labeling me as a convict blogger." Bot so, David, my reference was to the author of Romans, the apostle Paul, who wrote from prison to the nacent Christian congregations in the cities beyond his cell.

" I am a believer as you are in Yeshua the eternal son of god Yeshua is Jesus"

No offense David, all I asked was for you to come up with something Jesus (Yeshua) has to say about homosexuals or homosexuality. Owing to how your first comment shows your fixation with the topic in retaliation to Mr. Tisei and your subsequent expression of devotion to Jesus (Yeshua) I didn't think you'd have had such a struggle to come up with the cite of what our Lord had to sat on the subject.

Mr. Beaupre, the answer is that He never said anything about homosexuals or homosexuality. But I do regard some mention He reportedly said:

1. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind,
2. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two Commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

I think sexual orientation should be left out of this. We're in Massachusetts, nobody cares. If we are going to discuss sexuality, we should focus on instead how his sexual orientation, and his status as a career politician, has influenced him to bend to the will of lobbyists. He was the one Republican to support the "bathroom bill" (as most people know), and he also voted to keep the marriage initiative from reaching the ballot as a referendum, averting the people's right to vote on the issue. Even California allowed people to vote on it. Although personally, I am a Republican and I favor a state's right to allow gays to marry, those who do not favor it have the right to voice their opinion via referendum, and Richard Tisei voted to keep them from doing so.

Bill Hudak and Richard Tisei are both threats to John Tierney. This primary is about two things however. It is foremost about restoring conservative values, most importantly fiscal discipline, to Capitol Hill. Secondly, it is about building up the Republican party in Massachusetts. In my opinion, Bill Hudak has qualified himself to be the only candidate in the 6th district poised to accomplish both objectives. He has built up an organization in the district that has only continued to grow, and will be strong enough to take this seat from Tierney in November. And I have confidence that he will make his case to Republicans and to the majority of citizens of our district, and will succeed in unseating Mr. Tierney.

While we will leave this one alone, for now, as William O'Brien suggest, to sum up, it is important to realize that Jesus had nothing to say about homosexuality or homosexuals, instead urged us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. If we are unable to love ourselves, we will not be able to love our neighbors. If we are comfortable with ourselves, we can be effective sources for good. I have known Richard Tisei for 30 years. He is at ease within his own skin. He does not need to beat up on anybody to try to feel better about himself. He's a stable man. I am looking forward to his campaign -- and Mr. Hudak's campaign -- both centering on the multitude of issues that are important to being an effective congressman. What got me going was Mr. Beaupre's using a term that is provocative and unuseful. One of my issues is that it bothers me when biblically untraveled people -- including some who claim to speak for the Tea Party -- profess they are "Christian" and for "family values" -- decry those borne out of wedlock and who have no clue that Jesus's mother Mary was a 13 year old unwed teenager when she had Him, and while affirming that the most perfect love is of a male God for his Son Jesus, overlook that Jesus said nothing about homosexuality or homosexuals. We are all the ones whom Christ came down to save. "Caritas" begins at home. Amen for now.

When we say "Tea Party" we should think, "Ask not what Our Country can do for us but what we can do for Our Country". JFK would have been a Tea Party supporter.

How about "No Taxation without Representation?" What is wrong with that?

Malcolm, as always, you have raised a fascinating question! This is why i want you blogging for Patch. Would JFK have been a Tea Party supporter? Malcolm's point is that Kennedy believed in service to country and not looking for handouts. However, Kennedy also started the Peace Corps and an equally valid question might be, who is more likely to volunteer for the Peace Corps --- Occupy folks or Tea Party folks?

We have coffee at Donna's once in a while and about every five minutes a senior approaches him and ask for advice on the problems they are facing, taxes debt. and survisal. Doug is a very busy man and yet he never turns his back of those in need. Doug is their hero in my opinion. He does not need to be treated as he is in this discussion. He can speak for himself but seldom does because the discussions are not about him. Few are probably listening to this discussion, they have turned it off. How do these attacks help anyone. Bill Gilman and Malcom, JFK was probably closer to being a Nixon Conservative. They both believed in lower taxes. Nixon was more or less the father of the EPA, OSHA, smaller government and lower taxes. As the calendar changed the programs changed and now they are unmanageable. Nixon's foreign policies were more worldly while JFK's were closer to home, like Cape Cod. They were both good Presidents, however, with the Bay of Pigs, The Cuban Missile crisis I slept with one eye open. JFK grew into the job and was a great leader before he was taken from us. JFK was an inspirational leader and Nixon was a man of great strength, determination and discipline with a far too soft interior. I have read all of Nixon's books and many will disagree with my summary because of what they have been taught in Public Schools. Nixon was brought down by his loyalty to friends. His friends tried to please him and went too far for todays standards, however, the antics were common in the sixty's & seventy's. Sometimes the parties got a little rough on both sides. They all expected to get roughed up a bit during these indoor football sessions that shocked the world but not the players. It got out of control. Ahhhhh, the good ole days when we needed a good laugh we always got one.

As far as Nixon goes, putting aside the fact that he was a raving anti-semite, he would be far too "moderate" for today's GOP. An advisor of his, Stuart Altman, who worked on health care was quoted recently saying something to the effect of "Rather than Obama borrowing from Romeny, both Romney and Obama borrowed from Nixon."
Can you imagine, a republican for universal health coverage?!

JFK probably would have been against the Tea Party because they do hold the governments feet to the fire. The Occupy Group would not place limits on the government. They demand that "We the people to pay all of their outstanding bills today. They're against the job providers wanting them to be more like the government providing benefits paid for by others. They expect businesses to be their cash cows. How long would a business last with one of them as CEO? They are against the free market system and nearly everything else that separates our country from all others. As they say" Socilaism is great until you run out of other peoples money. It pays to be an enemy of the United States, our enemies receive more from us than our friends in need. Why would any country choose friendship over unlimited handouts? They vote against us at the U.N. because it pays to. The Occupiers would have been attracted to the Peace Corp in my opinion. They want no part of self reliance. The Peace Corps. thought they were saving the world and also uniting it, good intentions, I don't see the evidence of any success. The more we provided to many of these countries the more their leaders stole.

Hi Bruce, A Republican that favors Government provided Health Care really isn't a Republican. My doctor as a child would ask young people that were unable to pay for treatment to mow his lawn throughout the summer in exchange for treatment. He called on a farmer in need one day (house Call) and Before leaving noticed their sick dog on the floor. He asked the farmers wife what was wrong with the dog. She said he needs an operation that we can't afford. Before leaving the dog was up on the kitchen table and under the knife. In the sixty's living in Somerville when my children were ill the doctor would come to our house from Mount Auburn Hospital to save us money. He would also treat the other three before leaving if the illness was contagious. No one went without being treated. All done without a government contract by people that helped each other. That's only a couple of reasons I love this country and its people we take care of each other. The Church and our families were always there for us should they be needed. Today the government has gone too far dividing families creating a Nannny State. There are times we need them and they are very neccesary, but today the government creates opportunities to take over our lives, pushiing the churches aside. Churches were always the bond for those in need. Sorry I got carried away, but we do need to be more self reliant the well is running dry.

I abhor the waste and incompetence of large-scale federal bureaucracies in this administration as well as in others. I do not favor state compulsion when voluntary individual effort can do the job and do it well." from your suggested JFK Liberal speech.
