Chamber to host town business day at Tewksbury Library.

 

Wow!  An entire month has gone by and here I am again writing my Tewksbury Patch column for the second time!

As promised I will continue with my David Letterman style top 10 list.

Top Ten Tips for Successful Networking

10 – Learn to describe what you do in 30 seconds

9 –Pick one event that is relevant to you – have a common ground with those you network with

8 – Be authentic, build trust and relationships

7 – Ask yourself what you want to get out of networking – what are your expectations – your ultimate goal should be to make valuable business connections

6 – Be visible – volunteer – arrive early and have plenty of business cards

5 – Smile, be positive, listen and focus – do not bore people with your problems

4 – Teach – don't sell, build relationships

3 – Follow-up after meeting– send a thank you note

2 – Maintain your relationships after meeting

1 – Join the Greater Lowell Chamber at out 3 networking events per month and YOU WILL MEET VALUABLE BUSINESS CONNECTIONS!

Join representatives from the Greater Lowell Chamber and the Small Business Administration on October 12, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Tewksbury Library for our bi-monthly Town Business Days!  The Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce offers businesses in Tewksbury access to those who can address concerns that affect their business.  This is free and open to all Tewksbury businesses.
