Two Arrested, Third Suspect Sought In Friday Burglary

Police seek public help in tracking third suspect.

Two suspects have been arrested and a third is being sought in connection with the burglary of a Van Buren Road Home on March 15.

One of the suspects has become very familiar to Tewksbury Police over the past several months.

Ryan Codner, 21, of 34 Cinnamon Circle, was arrested on Saturday, along with Kayla Freda, 18, of 8 Rose Lane Stoneham.

According to Tewksbury Police, Codner is charged with breaking and entering, larceny over $250, and conspiracy. Freda is charged with receiving stolen property over $250.

Codner has been arrested three times in the past five months on charges related to burglaries. The first time was in the fall and the most recent was earlier this month.

In regard to the Van Buren Road burglary, Tewksbury Police say the suspects gained entry into the home through an unlocked rear sliding door. They allegedly stole jewelry and a laptop.

Tewksbury detectives tracked some of the stolen property to a Lawrence pawn shop. Some of it was found during a search of the Codner residence at 34 Cinnamon Circle.

There is a third suspect being sought in connection with this latest break-in. He has been identified as Michael Codner, 26, also of 34 Cinnamon Circle. An arrest warrant has been issued for Codner's arrest on charges of breaking and entering, larceny over $250 and conspiracy.

If anyone knows the whereabouts of Michael Codner they are asked to contact Tewksbury Police at 978-851-7373.  If you wish to remain anonymous you can call the Tip Line at 978-851-0175 or send an email to tewks_detectives@tewksbury-ma.gov

cant take anything from someone who has never worked and owns nothing dan. as for fining these guys, do you think they pay their bills ?? these two need to do STATE prison time [not cushy billerica time] where they are going to be treated just the way they treated their victims !! my nephew went to school with them and said they're scummers and cowards. its obvious they can not be rehabilitated.. if a dog keeps biting, ya gotta put it down... same principal here ....

When will someone put a stop to the extra curricular activities of these bums? Praying they break into the wrong house one day and get whats coming to them! Tired of hearing about these characters preying on thier neighbors.

HA! Break into the wrong house and get what's coming to them? This is Massachusetts - the homeowner shoots at them, and the HOMEOWNER goes to jail!

Blame the courts, terrible politicians and those who vote for them.

I would like to thank the police department especially the the detectives who worked on our case for the speedy recovery of most of our stolen items. I commend them for their promptness coming to our home and how effecient they where.

I must say it is getting somewhat easy for the Tewksbury PD to solve any b&es for a two mile radius of Cinnamon Circle - just go straight to the Codner residence.

This Ryan Codner I can say can obviously cannot be rehabilitated unless he is locked up and they throw away the key. How many times can these individuals be let loose and they do the exact same thing all over again. Maybe it is time to build more jails because apparently there isn't enough room unless you really are involved in a violent crime, ex. murder. Also we should have more control over the local pawn shops. If the owners see someone who is very young trying to sell things, they should alert the police department. It seems that most of the stuff either turns up in Lowell, Lawrence, Salem, NH, or Nashua NH. Maybe when someone reports a burglary, a report should be sent immediately to these shops so they can look out for the items that went missing.

I thought I recognized the name Mike Conder instead of Ryan. Here's a brief exchange on Feb 1 when this article posted here http://tewksbury.patch.com/articles/two-men-arrested-for-breaking-into-home-of-their-neighbor

We should all start a kickstarter page to pay for a detail to sit outside these scumbags houses 24/7 then we won't have any crime...

Its all the hard drugs. These kids will do ANYTHING they can. I totally don't even blame him 100%.... I had a problem using but overcame it and addiction to shit like that takes u over. Kid needs help. Maybe if we had jail space and not fill it up with stupid marijuana possesors(@Mary) that you all vote to incarcerate he could maybe get into a prison rehab. Don't get me wrong having your items stolen from you sucks and takes years to get over and yea probably a dumb move on his part but where is the help for people with problems, ill bet he dosnt have health care wich our government FORCES us to pay for so he slips through the loop and dosnt get the treatment he needs. Benefit of the doubt people

nathan, if you had a problem in the past as you say then you should know there is no stopping these addicts till THEY are ready !! i've seen people come out of jail after years of forced sobriety only to pick up that SAME DAY !! all you can do is sentence them to long terms followed by years of drug testing. if they use during testing, back in jail they go.. this is the only thing that works. these people are not even close to quitting. every break they get they laugh to themselves how easy they've got off again !!! maybe it will take breaking into someones home who is just waiting for them, and blasts them back thru the door.. or someone finds out it was them who broke into their home and catches them and goes "willy mays" on their asses. i say enough going easy on this type of scum [yes scum]!! you CANNOT force sobriety with your "treatment".. lock them up in big boys jail where they belong .. fed up on this bulls#it ....

You people may not believe it but Ryan is innocent this time and his brother is letting him take the blame because hes to scared to admit he did it himself. And with Ryans record he knew they would believe it was him. Talk about a scumbag.

thats the problem with being a scumbag lisa... nobody believes anything you say. both these brothers are whats termed "menace to society"... i hope the town prosecutor looks into charging them with mayhem if it will give more leverage to longer sentences. do yourself a favor and find better "friends".. cuz they dont know the meaning, they're "codners"

It's not them. Its the drugs. None of you know what its like to have a problem. Do you think if they werent on drugs they would wake up one day and say hey i wanna go rob someones house, no cause nobody does. Its not who they really are and they are just lost and need some help. Some cant be saved. but some can. Them as people are awesome, and you dont know them as people. You know what you read on here which is not 100% accurate to begin with. They have made their mistakes and have done stupid/wrong things but its because they have a problem and need some help. You can't judge someone who is on drugs because it's not them reacting its the drug. I know them both on a personal level, Ryan is just lost and needs some help right now and hopefully thats what he gets. Hes a smart and caring person and would not hurt anybody. On drugs people will do anything. Mike on the other handle, he cant be saved and isn't worth it.

I'm sure others here have had issues as well, Lisa - don't assume. Not for nothing, the drugs didn't make them do the drugs in the first place.
