Welcome to the latest edition of Sound-off Sunday.
Summertime is often seen as a quiet time in the journalism world -- a time when readership becomes dormant. Many folks are off on vacation or lounging by their pool.
This month, our readers have shown they will take Tewksbury Patch with them wherever they go. Here's some of what our readers have been saying this week.
Poll of the Week

- Friendly's 5 (4%)
- Mac's Dairy 49 (40%)

Reader Comments of the Week
From Kathleen Brothers -- HOORAY for repaving Main Street!!! It is so bad and looks so very bad it would be so nice to see no patchwork as one is driving from Wilmington to Lowell. I for one hope it happens...
From Mary -- So glad to read this. I only wish that someday someone will buy the old Funworld. I wish they would re-do it all over. It was a nice place to go as a kid with your family or friends, from arcade games, to mini golf, batting cages and go karts. It would be so nice to have some of these old things back in our town that I used to have as a child, that I could share with my children. We had Mini golf, drive in movie theatres, bowling..always something for kids to do without leaving town. It is ashame we have lost all that and gained more shopping plazas.
From Ronald -- I just hope these new developers are not MINI-MALL developers. Any new mini-mall project should be shot down by the planning board.
From Dan -- Great news....What about the old police station???
From Kirsten -- What an extremely informative article!!! I really enjoyed it! I have to admit that I don't enjoy lobster enough to pay the enormous price tag, but it brings forth so many wonderful feelings for me. Once the weather starts getting warmer and you see that first lobster sprawled across the plate of one very happy person, you know the summer is here. I guess you could say it's a bit symbolic of fun summer memories of beach trips, whale watches, sand castles, candy shops, sand-filled car mats, boogie boarding, and so much more. I think it's fair to say that a delicious summer meal for some also excites many emotions for others (or both)!!!!! I can't wait to share the recipe with my mother! Thank you.
From Rachelle -- My son and I love letterboxing. We have been hunting for letterboxes for the past five years. In fact we just spent a fun afternoon two days ago at Breakheart Reservation in Saugus looking for New England sports team stamps. The park has a beach so we had a refreshing dip in the cool water afterwards.
From Kirbert --One might note that the 20,000 boxes estimate is waaaay low, as is the assertion of four boxes in Tewksbury. Suggest that letterboxers check atlasquest.com for more listings!
